BioSpace25 - Biodiversity insight from Space
BIOSPACE25 is the first international conference exclusively dedicated to the application of Satellite Remote Sensing (SRS) across the various dimensions of biodiversity, and addressing the use of Earth Observations in all realms, from terrestrial, freshwater, coastal to marine ecosystems.
The BIOSPACE25 conference is organised jointly by the European Space Agency, the European Commission, the Group on Earth Observations Biodiversity Observation Network (GEO BON) and the Committee on Earth Observation Satellites (CEOS), in collaboration with a number of partner organisations.

Big Data Conference Europe 2024
This is one of Europe’s largest AI, Cloud and Data conferences, this year in Vilnius, Lithuania with a full day of workshops (in person) and three days of conference (in person/online). It’s focus is on technical discussions in areas such as Big Data, Data Science, Machine Learning and AI, aiming to bring together developers, IT professionals and users. Over 700 people, 60 plus talks, 4 plus workshops and 4 tracks.

SMOS Science Conference & 15 Year Anniversary
The Centre National d’Études Spatiales and the European Space Agency are calling for a SMOS Science Conference on 4 – 6 November 2024 at Castello San Marco, in Calatabiano, Sicily. To celebrate the 15th anniversary of the SMOS launch, participants are cordially invited to join a celebration dinner on the 2nd of November and a SMOS family activity on the 3rd of November. Focus of the conference is on L-Band passive microwave remote sensing, uses, applications and the future potential.

EO for Cultural and Natural Heritage 2024 workshop
Climate change, earthquakes, floods, and other natural disasters; pollution, poaching, uncontrolled urbanization, and unchecked tourist development; armed conflict and war, pose major threats to both, cultural and natural heritage sites. Ongoing monitoring of these heritage sites is therefore necessary. However, doing it on-site becomes costly and sometimes difficult since the heritage site might be in an area of difficult access.
The purpose of this workshop is to bring state-of-the-art actors in EO for heritage together, to demonstrate to both the EO industry and the heritage audience that EO data and technology have achieved a level of advancement ready to support heritage activities in a wide variety of areas.

IAC 2024
Focussing on responsible space for sustainability with a programme providing dedicated days for agencies, industry and science and academia. There is also a day dedicated to diversity. With networking events and opportunities including Welcome Reception, breakfasts, luncheons, Events and Gala Dinner it promises to be the event to attend for Astronauts and Space this year.

UN GGIM
The United Nations Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM), in collaboration with the Government of México through Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Geografía (INEGI) will convene the Seventh High-level Forum on United Nations Global Geospatial Information Management with the theme "Accelerating Implementation: Achieving Resilience" in México City from 8 - 10 October 2024. This seventh edition of UN-GGIM's High-level Forums will continue UN-GGIM's regular high-level, multi-stakeholder discussions on global geospatial information management, through the convening of global forums, aimed at promoting comprehensive dialogue among Member States, and between Member States and relevant international organizations, UN system entities, and stakeholders.

INTERGEO 2024
With over 300 speakers and 17000 attendees this is one of the largest conferences for everything geospatial, geoinformation and land management under one roof. Big focus on survey including terrestrial and airborne so if you are interested in drones and their capabilities and the possibilities one to watch.

World Satellite Business Week
The leading global business space event bringing together 1000 decision makers for a week of deal-making and discussions shaping the future of the industry. All the big names are there from Airbus to Maxar to SES with over 200 executive speakers. It's split into two main areas: Summit for Satellite Financing and Summit on Earth Observation Business. The latter has some interesting talks including On-orbit computing: Bringing intelligence into space; Enabling Effective Environmental Policy Implementation and the Spanish Space Agency on 14th and SAR Business allowing new value propositions (one of my favourite topics!); New business models and services such as GSaaS and SaaS and Next-Generation space capabilities for enhanced Agroindustry. Speakers include agencies (CNES, ESA), tech companies (AWS, ESRI), satellite manufacturers (Airbus,Capella, SpaceX, Viasat), data/service providers (Satellite Vu, Telespazio, Asterra) and a host of policy, finance and security people (Tony Blair Institute, ESSP, EDA, ING). One to watch!

SPIE Sensors and Imaging 2024
SPIE Sensors + Imaging combines two of Europe’s best photonics conferences – SPIE Remote Sensing and SPIE Security + Defence. The premier yearly European event that showcases the latest sensor and photonic technologies for imaging and monitoring the Earth’s atmosphere and environment, as well as sensor technologies that address homeland security, defence, and counterterrorism.

Small Satellite Conference
During the 38th Annual Small Satellite Conference, they will explore how automation is being integrated into small satellite systems across the space, launch, ground, and user segments, making them smarter and more effective. With automation a key tech in data processing, analysis to enable decision making it looks to be a very interesting conference and one I will be peeking into to see how this can push the growth of small satellites in providing new cost effective models for wider access for end users to apply to our most pressing challenges.

ESRI User Conference 2024
The key GIS conference for the year held in the sunny city of San Diego. Showcasing the best and latest developments and case studies of the application of GIS with the famous plenary, technical sessions, poster expo, SIGS and commercial exhibition it proves to be more exciting this year with more around AI, Smart Infrastructure and Climate impact. Theme is Uniting our World in true socially aware ESRI style.

COSPAR 2024
The 45th Scientific Assembly from one of the oldest and most prestigious forums for space research scientists and stakeholders. Under the umbrella of the International Council for Science it is one of the longest and largest conferences for discussing space research with a range of council meetings, poster sessions, round tables for space agency, science awards and satellite events.

IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium
Leading meeting of more then 2500 scientists and professionals in the Remote Sensing field worldwide. The theme is 'Acting for Sustainability and Resilience' and it's aim is to stimulate debates for opening science and innovation towards the creation of innovative solutions for the benefit of societies. It will emphasise the UN 2030 Agenda on sustainable development.

EO Summit (Terrawatch)
The first ever conference from Terrawatch, their mission to connect EO with end users, with advisory and news to bring industry to apply it more. This first conference will focus on enterprise and climate-related use cases of EO appealing to investors, EO professionals, end users of EO and policymakers. There are 4 tracks and 8 use cases from insurance and finance to climate intelligence and plenaries and sessions.

GEO Business Show
Key conference for all things Geo and Business in the UK. A huge expo and sessions covering all aspects of geospatial including of course drones, remote sensing and the latest innovation. Earth Observation for Energy (EO f4 Energy) Workshop
The Geological Remote Sensing Group (GRSG) Americas, in partnership with the University of Houston, invites you to a workshop focusing on the role of Earth Observation (EO) and remote sensing in the Energy Industry.
As the industry moves towards sustainability, driven by Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) considerations, the significance of EO and remote sensing continues to grow. This workshop will encompass insightful case studies, introduce emerging technologies, and present advanced methodologies.
